UCLA's Campus Events Commission Simplifies Student Event Management with Bounce

When UCLA’s Campus Events Commission (CEC) partnered with Bounce last year, they set out to make on-campus events more accessible, better attended, and easier to manage. One year later, Bounce has become a trusted part of the CEC toolkit. Now, as they head into year two, they take some time to reflect on the impact that Bounce has had on their campus programming and administrative workload.

The Challenge: Long Lines & Missing Info

The CEC is a student-run, student-funded organization that has been providing some of the largest events for undergraduate students at UCLA since 1965. Managing some of the biggest campus events at UCLA comes with high expectations. For the CEC, that meant finding a reliable way to get students in the door fast, ensure safety protocols are followed, and reduce friction for both attendees and student organizers.

“We would get a ton of questions,” shared Brooklyn Bush, CEC’s former Online Marketing & Sponsorship Director, “...now, if you want the ticket, you’ll see that [information] immediately, that's been really helpful for us with our goal of keeping [events] safe, and for Bruins”.

The Bounce Solution: Seamless Scanning and Safety

Bounce’s event check-in tools and waiver system made an immediate difference to the CEC. Events became easier to manage, more secure, and less chaotic.

“When we did our event, the line was wrapped outside, and we're just able to scan, scan… we didn't have to pull anything up or have names. Just scan, scan…” said Brooklyn, “...keeping track of how people come to the events, it's really helpful.”

Moving forward, tracking attendance and engagement for each event type through Bounce can help the CEC and other campus organizations offer programming that aligns with students’ interests and needs.

The Results: More Time, More Confidence, More Community

Bounce didn’t just streamline logistics; it created space for CEC to focus on what they do best: building experiences students love. The CEC saw an 107% increase in RSVP's to spring quarter events between 2024 and 2025., which included everything from the high-energy UltraBloom EDM Festival to the ShortTakes Film Festival and a live Q&A with Bob the Drag Queen.

Bounce has made it incredibly easy to just enjoy our time at UCLA,” said Brooklyn. “Feeling like we have support with the events, but beyond just our own team, there's somebody else that's rooting for us as well”

Why It Matters: Meeting Students Where They Are

As CEC continues to lead major programming on campus, they also see Bounce as a valuable tool for helping smaller orgs find their audience.

You don’t have to be a large organization or hosting consistent events to find value in the platform. “Small clubs usually just rely on Instagram or their own flyering. But, I would recommend putting it on [Bounce] as well, just so that it can reach as many people as possible,” suggested Brooklyn.

Whether you’re inviting students to come to your next club event or looking for new members to join the team, Bounce is the place to find your people.

Looking Ahead

As CEC prepares for a new school year, they’re focused on continuing to deliver standout events that engage students across the university, with Bounce by their side. CEC’s experience proves what’s possible when student leaders are given the right tools and right support.
